Canadian University College

CUC had seen their enrollments lag in past recruitment cycles and needed to enhance student outreach in order to bolster enrollments. A key component to their plan was the creation of a new Web site. CUC worked with Blue Hue to enhance the appearance, content presentation and navigational hierarchy of their online experience for students. The new site provides a more contemporary image of CUC that highlights their personalized approach to education, beautiful location and Christian roots.
Blue Hue also consulted with the CUC Web team to research and implement the Drupal Open Source CMS solution as their preferred Web site maintenance tool and a cost efficient, user-friendly CMS.
Iowa Wesleyan College

Iowa Wesleyan University had previously created a Web site with their internal Web team that did not adequately represent the school, its programs or the campus atmosphere. Blue Hue worked with the staff and leadership of Iowa Wesleyan University to create a new Web site experience for IWC that has a greater visual style and use of photography. Blue Hue redesigned site structure, navigation and functionality within the scale of a tight project budget. Market research, interviews and brand analysis work were also completed on behalf of IWC in order to develop a design that is distinctive, yet accessible.
In addition to designing the site, Blue Hue completed primary implementation of both the Web site templates and site content into the Joomla! Open Source CMS.
Deree - The American College of Greece

The American College of Greece was Blue Hue’s first European client and also our first bilingual Web site. This multi-phased project included design and implementation of an admissions mini-site, research and implementation of a content management solution, trade show booth graphics design, full EDU site redesign, implementation into the Drupal CMS platform and migration of 200 pages of site content. Blue Hue’s extensive redesign provided a site that was more visually dynamic and representative of the beauty of the Athens location; allowing ACG to compete more effectively with other American-sponsored schools in the region. Blue Hue also partnered with Pure Visibility to provide word market analysis and search engine optimization services. The new ACG EDU site moved live in early 2010.
Dakota State University

Dakota State University is a long-time Blue Hue client. Blue Hue has worked with DSU to enhance and define the brand identity of DSU as a technology-focused institution; an effort that has been reflected in all publications and marketing sent out by the institution. Dakota State has been a long-time user of Blue Hue’s admissions marketing platform, AdmissionsGenie, to provide students their own private social network and personalized information based on enrollment status. One of the more recent projects is a virtual tour that allows DSU students to share their own experience and favorite things about the DSU campus with viewers. The tour was highlighted as a “Reader’s Choice” selection in a recent national magazine article for virtual tour experiences.

weCreate was a new Web site concept brought to Blue Hue by Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, that would allow students and mentors to collaborate in various creative areas of study, while providing exposure and accessibility to different pieces of creative software. Blue Hue worked with Shattuck-St. Mary’s to define and build the functionality and site structure that would be necessary to support the high level of collaboration and creative flexibility that was desired. Blue Hue also helped to create the branding and site appearance that would appeal to the site’s teenage audience. The site is currently being used by Shattuck-St. Mary’s students for projects in areas such as Music, Film & Video, Photography and Graphic Design. Long-term goals include marketing the site to other schools in the US and globally.
University of Wisconsin-Stout

The University of Wisconsin-Stout engaged Blue Hue to help with marketing and communications outreach strategy. One of the solutions implemented for UW-Stout was the AdmissionsGenie student portal. AdmissionsGenie provided Stout with a wide assortment of communication tools to deliver a unique experience for each prospect, including role-based welcome messages, trigger-based emails, RSS feeds, videos, photo tours and more.
"Fall 2007 brought in the largest freshmen class in the history of the University of Wisconsin-Stout. We enjoyed a freshmen class of 1708 new students. The look of our website and the ability for us to communicate with our students in a timely manner has been a direct result of our relationship with Blue Hue", said Dr. Cynthia Gilberts, Executive Director of Enrollment Management for UW-Stout.
McDaniel College

McDaniel College needed an admissions Web site that would support their existing publications and effectively communicate the personal experience of recruiting students to McDaniel. They also needed help with strategies for engaging their accepted students. AdmissionsGenie was selected as the platform of choice. Blue Hue’s extensive implementation included a McDaniel-only online community, video sharing and event scheduling tools.
The results for McDaniel’s first full year on AdmissionsGenie were extremely positive. In a year when they were budgeted for a decline in enrollment, McDaniel produced their 2nd largest class in the institution’s history. 2009-2010 applications are now on pace to surpass the previous year’s results.
McDaniel also engaged Blue Hue to build an online application for Maryland scholars. This project also proved extremely successful, bringing 25% of all applicants through this online tool in its first year. Plans for future application enhancements and engagement strategies are already underway.
Shorter College

Like many other colleges, Shorter was lacking exposure to prospective students interested in the campus. Their goal was to increase interest in the college and ultimately increase enrollment. Shorter’s staff wanted a fresh new look to appeal to their younger prospective students. Blue Hue’s team implemented an AdmissionsGenie site which utilized the existing color palette and logo of the school, while providing a more updated and visually engaging look and feel. The college’s admissions site now welcomes potential students to Shorter with a current student’s message about his or her personal experiences.
In addition to their Web site, Blue Hue has assisted Shorter College with several email and print search campaigns that are personalized to the end-user.
Mississippi State University - Meridian

MSU-Meridian engaged Blue Hue to build an EDU Web site that was more attractive, functional, and could better serve their primary prospective student audience of non-traditional, adult learners. They also needed help selecting and implementing a content management system that would allow their staff of only three to effectively maintain the Web site for the entire campus. Blue Hue conducted several days of on-site interviews and focus group discussions, in order to determine final recommendations for site structure and design, as well as system capabilities for content management. OmniUpdate was selected as the Content Management Solution. Along with full site redesign, architecture and implementation, Blue Hue assisted with content migration and worked with OmniUpdate to conduct system training.
MSU-M was very pleased with the results and continues to work with Blue Hue for periodic site support and maintenance.
Alderson Broaddus College

Alderson-Broaddus needed additional exposure to its prospective students. They wanted to develop an all-encompassing site that included news, features, opportunities to apply, and information on admissions, community, student life and academics. Alderson-Broaddus chose AdmissionsGenie to recruit and show prospective students the unique experiences of their undergraduate students. AdmissionsGenie’s proven combination of communication tools (including personalized e-mails, interactive Web sites, message boards and student-authored profiles) helped Alderson-Broaddus to make stronger connections with their prospective students. The new Alderson-Broaddus Admissions site features a cutting-edge design combined with bright, fresh colors to catch the attention of prospective students.
Clark Atlanta University

Clark Atlanta University wanted a Web site to boost their online communication with prospective HBCU students by improving their outreach and building stronger relationships. Blue Hue created an AdmissionsGenie site that enabled CAU to start speaking more effectively and efficiently with their prospective students. The AdmissionsGenie site helped deliver CAU’s largest freshman class in school history for the fall of 2006.
UNCC Charlotte Virtual Tour
UNCC has been a long time client of Blue Hue. When they were looking for a unique, virtual tour that could help them effectively engage students, Blue Hue proposed the creation of a virtual dorm room. This presentation provides students access to information about the advantages of UNCC by clicking on items they use everyday such as, a cell phone, computer, PDA and MP3 player. Videos, interactive flip books and video games on the cell phone create a truly one-of-a-kind online experience for prospective students.
DSU Virtual Tour
Dakota State University wanted a new approach for a virtual tour that would be unique and set them apart from their competitors. Because the students of DSU are such a part of campus, Blue Hue’s team created a tour that allows those same students to lead the virtual tour, similar to an on-campus tour. With videos, interactive pop-up facts, and a completely user defined experience, Blue Hue helped DSU to engage students with a unique, one of a kind online tour.
SMSU Virtual Tour
Southwest Minnesota State University needed to appeal emotionally and help students understand the physical layout of campus. Blue Hue's team developed a virtual tour that allowed prospective students to click through different areas of campus, such as the Student Center, Individualized Learning Center and the Recreation/Athletic Facility. The virtual tour was designed to help prospective students feel comfortable applying at SMSU without making a physical campus visit.
Bethany Commercials
Bethany Lutheran College has continued to grow as an institution within its local market, but needed to break out and reach a larger student base. To assist Bethany in meeting this goal, Blue Hue created a series of commercials focused on success stories involving Bethany students. The commercials aired in strategic Wisconsin markets and have been very successful at increasing awareness of Bethany.

Gustavus Adolphus Emails
Gustavus Adolphus College, a four-year private institution, had the need to drive prospective student’s interest via an email-marketing tool. Blue Hue worked with Gustavus to design and create a layout for email templates and helped create the messaging within each email. Blue Hue also launched each campaign, provided a tracking system to measure success, and gathered data from each campaign.
Concordia University Emails
Concordia University, Chicago, needed to increase enrollment and wanted to develop an email campaign to encourage potential students to learn more about Concordia’s offering. Concordia had an existing puzzle-themed email campaign they wanted to improve. Blue Hue conducted a message consultation, developed an email campaign redesign, and fulfilled the launching and reporting of campaign results.
DSU Print Publications
DSU’s staff wanted to better position itself as South Dakota’s institution for a technologically advanced education. DSU’s staff wanted to drive prospective students' perception of the University as a progressive institution that focuses on creating technologically savvy graduates, regardless of their degree.
DSU’s staff turned to Blue Hue, a long time partner. Blue Hue’s team helped DSU put a fresh and contemporary face on its institution through all of its publications and their Web site. The pieces emphasized DSU’s use of technology as an educational resource and daily convenience to students. Total prospective student inquires increased by seven percent and the average ACT scores for all applicants increased 73 percent for scores of 28 or higher. Blue Hue’s team earned a Best of Show award in the 21st Annual Admissions Advertising Awards for DSU’s print publications as well as the Web site.
